The Tigard High School Department of Theatre is proud to present The Winter One Acts, four student directed one act plays!
Each performance will contain three of the four student produced one act plays, which include 4AM by Jonathan Dorf directed by Tiara Comstock, Check Please by Jonathan Rand directed by Kait Pedersen, Unsung by Christian Kiley directed by Trinity Hemenway, and Just A Stage He’s Going Through by Pat Cook directed by PJ Doolin.
4AM – What’s it like to be awake when the rest of your world is asleep? Through a series of connected scenes and monologues, join a variety of characters on their journey as they discover whether the monster under the bed is real and collectively wonder…is there anybody out there?
Check Please – I’m sure you’ve all had your share of bad dates, but at least you can’t say that you’ve gone out with your grandma’s bridge partner…or a child….or a mime… Things couldn’t possibly get worse (until they do)! This show takes a humorous approach at blind dates in a way that audience of all ages will find amusing.
Unsung – A dramatic piece about people who feel as though their voices are not heard. This short, abstract piece addresses just a few of the personal issues that people in today’s society face, and illustrates just how difficult daily life can be.
Just A Stage He’s Going Through – Dwight, an average guy, wakes up in the middle of the night with a horrible feeling that he’s on stage somewhere – he looks out and, sure enough, he is. However, the rest of the characters see the world as it should be. Follow Dwight as he tries to work his way around the new world he’s stuck in, and learns a lesson along the way.
